It feels like a lifetime ago that I was in New Orleans for my birthday, but it's only been 5 years.  I was there for just a day, and man, it left such an impression on me I've been itching to go back with John since.

This layout is for a Swirlydoos challenge, Places Not People.  I decided to do New Orleans.  I used a lot from the Bohemian Spring kit.  The main paper was from my stash, and some stickers I bought specifically for any layouts I did about my trip.

I love the embellies that came in this kit.  The light bulbs from Ingvild Bolme, and the lovely garden fountain from Prima!  LOVE, and it fit perfect with the layout :)  I fussy cut some of the flowers from Kaisercrafts paper in the kit, the flowers are Petaloo.  As I said, some where my things, the stickers and black flourish.  I also made the little dots from my glue gun and just stickled them a bit. Martha's scallop punch and some distressing for effect, my chippie leaves that I cut.

I journaled on the back of the note card sticking out on the right.  It reads - There is a place that is filled with magic.  What a beautiful place it is.  The sites, the smells, the people.  You can't find anything like it anywhere else.  Nola, she'll steal your heart.

And she does, I promise.  Hope you liked, thanks for the visit :)

  1. New Orleans is top of my bucket list and has been for a while. Hopefully we will get back to USA soon. Beautiful photos Paula :) love the layout and the papers are perfect for a NO vibe.

    1. Helen, truly if you're in the states it is place to see as well as New York City hands down :)

  3. I haven't been in about 10 yrs now, and I'm really itching to go back. The hubby just doesn't "get it", so I'm planning a trip with some girlfriends, hopefully next year!

Love this layout, the way you grouped your photos. The distressing just totally fits and adds to the mysterious vibe you get when in NOLA. Love the added touch of the string of lights at the top. Your colors are great Paula, and the page just flows, drawing you right in to the photos.

    1. Aw Lisa, how could he not wanna go? Just the food alone is so worth it :) What a great girls trip though :)

  4. Stunning photos and layout! Love the colours, and the 3D embellies.
New Orleans has never really been on my radar, but you're making me think that maybe it should be!
