Some Layout Fun!

Hey everyone! It's been a while, kinda busy, good busy :) I'm now part of the work force, I am an employee of Hobby Lobby! A crafter's dream, or maybe nightmare depending on who you ask, lol!

I have two layouts here, the first is for the Swirlydoos challenge I'm hosting this month called Changes. The challenge was to go back to your very first layouts and update it to show how you've grown as an artist. Here is my original -

Sweet little Sophia back in 03 at just three years old. What a trip to see my early work!

Here is the updated version -

It's amazing to see all the changes in my work, from flat and bare to dimensional and very full of embellies and texture.

Next up is a layout for two challenges over at Scrapbook.com. The Ugly Paper Challenge, yes you read right, and the Music Inspiration Challenge. For the uglies, you pick two ugly papers and an embellie and send them to a scrapper, and you get the same yourself. You then make them beautiful. The music challenge is like the one from last month, the person after you picks the song. Mine was Vincent from Don Mclean. I used a pic of Liz Taylor and pulled a verse for the layout.

Here's the uglies -

Mama mia what a clashing mess!  Now here's my not so uglies -

I used white paper as the base with some corrugate peeking through, misted stamped and texture pasted, then added border punched strips of the pink paper that I sprayed with Lindy's mists. The green paper I made medallions with and a butterfly. The little embellie I painted white then added the word beautiful cut with Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations die.
Hope you like!

Some Fun Graphic 45 Home Decor

A quick check in to share some Halloween/fall decor I made with Graphic 45's An Eerie Tale line. This one is rather versatile, you can use it for other types of pieces too.

The colors here are gorgeous! First I mounted the paper on chipboard for stability. I made it dimensional with foam squares and added some stickles for my beloved sparkle. Fussy cutting and a vine cut with my cricut makes for a pretty little piece. I have it hanging in my home, some things I just can't part with...

Happy Fall Ya'll!

Well hello friends! I'm here to share this fun fall layout I did for the Autumn Bliss challenge on Scrapbook.com. I'm also putting it in the hoard challenge too since I used a Bo Bunny line that I've had for a few years. I have decided to really try and be conscientious about using my stash which is at an insane level. There is also a video to go along with this layout. Here are the pics -

I made the metal mat with an embossing folder and metal tape that you can get at Home Depot or Lowes. I then stained it with Distress stains, alcohol inks and some brown paint. The flowers and leaves were made with a combo of Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves, Susan's Garden, Heartfelt Creations stamps and die sets Sun Kissed Fleur and Delicate Aster. The flourishes are Tim Holtz Elegant Flourishes die. There's some faint stamping in the background, Prima's brick stamp and Stampin Up's French letter stamp. I cut the title with my cricut using my gypsy to weld the letters from the Ashley cart and the twig from the gypsy wanderings cart that came with the gypsy. This was a great memory apple picking last year at the local orchards. As you can see my kids are big time hams!

Dance Like Uma!

Hi friends and a happy Friday to you! Phew the weekend, love it! I'm here with such a fun challenge I participated in over at Scrapbook.com. It's a song challenge and how it worked is the person who signed up AFTER you picked the song you had to scrap. Your choice of how, title, verse, group who sang it, whatever you wanted. My song was Uma Thurman by Fallout Boy! Wow, talk about fun! At first I'm cutting the lyrics up and seeing what popped out at me. Well, then my personality kicked in and I said "Self cut the bull and do what this is calling for!!!" Campy goodness here we come -

This took a bit of moving moving moving till we arrived here. What was in my head just didn't wanna translate to the layout. In some of the close-ups you can see the texture paste stenciling which is pretty much covered up by the pics and center matting. Again what I started and pictured just wasn't working so only a little peek here and there is popping through. The paper is a real flashback Friday, Bo Bunny's Enchanted. What a pretty line that has just been sitting in my stash. I'm going to put this in the hoarding challenge too. I used my cricut and Jasmine cart for the title as well as little rhinestones from my stash. The black flower I've had since the dawn of time, I cut it in half and tucked it in the two spots. My other flowers are from I Am Roses (rose buds and little cherry blossoms) and the pretty center one is from Prima. I sprayed the little ones with some Lindy's.The only real pop of color is that pretty little red butterfly that I printed up. Really, you know I need to put one somewhere ;)

Happy weekend folks! Thanks for looking,

Summer Fun!

Hi friends, I have a layout to share filled with a lot of pics! Swirlydoo's round robin challenge this month is What I Did This Summer, well we were at the beach almost every week. As soon as I heard it I knew I wanted to scrap our time there. It's really special and the kids have so much fun. We stay for a good six hours, our cooler packed with food and goodies. They can swim forever. We go to Corona Del Mar which is beautiful.

I really don't do multi pic layouts, and this is a first because I managed to pack 8 pics in friends and it doesn't look like a mess!!

Take a look -

I used the Artful Blues kit with lovely Kaisercraft and Authentique papers. The chippie is from my stash, a beauty by Creative Embellishments treated with gesso then Lindy's mist. The twist was something you've had for more than a year, and that's the cheesecloth, the twine and the shell border. I cut the title with  my cricut and the little skittles I made myself with translucent beads baked in the toaster oven :D

The pic on top of my son and daughter with just their heads out had me a wreck! I don't swim and I was using my camera like binoculars so I could see them, they were so far out there was a little fishing boat about 15 feet behind them!
