Google Reader Going Bye-Bye

Ok folks, don't know if you know this or not, but Google Reader the tool by which we all follow our fave blogs will be kaput come July I believe it is.  To keep from losing all your faves that may have taken years to create there is a site called Bloglovin' that you can use to transfer all of them to :)  Click on the title or *HERE* for all the directions on how to do this, and if you are a new follower do it through Bloglovin' :)

Some Projects and A Tutorial~

I've been working on a few projects and I made a tutorial!  Imagine that.  I figured most of the design team requirements is the capability of tutorials so I might as well give it a go :) I decided to try some different things and these are what I created.

Altered Altoid Mint Tin -

I made this with Prima's Fairy Belle collection and some flowers that was in my stash. I tied a sage colored ribbon around it from a collection that I bought at Prima's parking lot sale 2 years ago. I really like how it came.  The pic is my granddaughter Aelyn when she was a Fairy for Halloween wow at least 7 years ago!

Flower Ball or bomb I've heard used made with Fairy Belle once again  This sucker took 76 individual flowers layered into three, very tedious but I liked it.  Most definitely not for everyone :)

I also made this altered hat box with the fairy line once again.  I love this line!  In case you didn't notice, not only do I love glitter I also love flowers and butterflies.

And now for my tutorial!  I show how to make the flowers that I used in the above flower ball project.  I hope you enjoy it -

Once Upon A Sketch

Hi everyone, just wanted to share this awesome challenge from Once Upon A Sketch.  If you haven't been to their blog yet you can check it out *HERE*.  I've been lurking for a few months now and decided to throw my hat into the ring :)  They have some awesome sketches and even better prizes!

The prompt was "The Best Day of Your Life."  Part of the challenge means including journaling in your lay out and as you can see in the pic, I put it on the tags hidden behind the photo.  Mine says "The best day ever? How does a mom of six choose? The day they were born were the best days ever. When my granddaughters were born were the best day!  Truly, when we're all together is the best day ever."

Hope you like my project -

This was made with Prima's Pastiche paper line, petaloo flowers and Prima flowers.  Distress inking, Lyndy stamp gang mists (my new fave!) utee dipping and cricut cutting ;)

Easter Cards

I made these Easter cards using a combo of Graphic 45's Secret Garden and A Place In Time papers.  It's an easel style card and I love how they turned out. I have accumulated SO many scraps that at some point I have to challenge myself to make an album from them, it's really a monster size of paper scraps now.

I used my cricut to weld and cut the scallops and circle then printed the sentiment up on the puter, cut it and distressed inked it and the card pieces then glued it all together.  Pretty :)

A Manly Mini

Well ladies, I hope you're in the mood for some major eye candy overload!  Manly is putting it mildly. My daughter Victoria heads up Joe Manganiello's fan club the wolfettes so I made her a zig-zag mini of him.  Another of his fans saw it and asked if I would do one for her if she paid me.  Of course, not only is it fun, but I get paid too ;)

Here are the pics of the mini's.  The first is Victoria's and then her friend's.  I used one of Tim Holtz's paper lines, gosh if I can remember the name, and lots of embellies that I had or crafted.  I used some song lyrics that she liked and some I picked myself and printed them up, one I made look kind of like and old love letter.  This is all just too fun!

next -

Whoo, this guy has a 10 pack I think! lol  It's vary funny having these out on my desk while working on them.  All this shirtless hunkiness floating around.

On a disappointing note, I didn't make it past round 1 of G'45's design team call :(  They had hundreds of extremely talented people try out from all over this world!  As I would look at the different submissions I knew that it was going to be very rough to make it even past round 1.  I'm not discouraged though, I'll keep working and refining and I won't stop entering :)
