Hey there friends!  Thanks for coming by.  Another week down and new one beginning and a couple of challenge blogs that I have created a layout for.  Before I get to that I want to quickly thank all of you who wished me best of luck on G45's dt call.  Another year and another no, but it's a tough choice to make when you have so many vying for just 30 spots and then down to 12.  Each year my work gets better, so next year might just be my turn :)

Now, this layout was done for Craft Hoarders Anonymous and Scrap Around The World.  Both of these blogs are just awesome, and I really love their challenges.  Please give them a visit, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

First up, Scrap Around The World.  They had a gorgeous mood board to give inspiration, I just loved it!

Isn't it gorgeous!  Love all the pinks in it, it makes me feel happy.  Next is Craft Hoarders Anonymous.

Their prompt was Sparkle, Glitz or Glam!  Well, isn't that right up my ally :D  I love me some bling!

Here is my interpretation -

Just want to tell you about the background treatment I did here.  First I painted the area with some vanilla paint, then I used my prima stone wall stencil and sprayed it with Lindy's then edged the stones with colored pencil to define it a bit more.

This is Graphic 45's Botanical Tea collection.  It's just gorgeous.  I knew I wanted to do a background treatment since it was a patterned paper, and the roses just lent itself to a wall.  I made the big cabbage roses myself the rest are from my stash.  On the right side of the pic are Botanical Tea cut outs, a postcard and stamps.  I popped the matting and pic up a bit so I can tuck goodies in here and there.  the vine chippie is from Creative Embellishments.  The title I cut myself with my cricut.  You can see my sparkly bling flourishes tucked here and there as well as some rhinestone dots in the top and lower right hand corners.  Happy with how this came and with the background treatment I made.  The picture is of my beautiful granddaughter Gianna.  This is from Desirae's wedding.  Did you think I was kidding when I said I can scrap the rest of my life off of those pics? lol  She is quite the ham and thought she was a model with her own photographer! Also, I didn't distress my paper edges like I usually do.  I went with just a basic inking around the page. I haven't done a YouTube in a dogs age, so maybe I'll do one on the background :)

  1. I am so sorry you missed the deadline. Just remember, it is always on a Sunday by midnight CA time. But, your project is wonderful. Love it. I am also sorry about the G45 DT. Try again next year. You can wear them down! hee hee Hugs.

    1. I'll keep that in mind Gloria :) This brain of mine remembers less and less lately. I will never give up trying out for G45. One of two things will happen, I'll either make it, or my hands will no longer be functional and I won't be able too :D

  2. LOVE that collection! everything scrapped with it looks so incredibly pretty, just like your layout! you sure have a little princess for grandie. Thank you so much for sharing your work with us at Scrap Around The World!

  3. So pretty page!!! and pic! Thanks for joining us at Scrap Around The World!

  4. Paula! This is just gorgeous! You do absolutely lovely work and yes, next year!! Keep up the lovely projects. Hope all is well with you!

    1. Maria, thank you so much! <3 It stings a bit, but I know it really is the luck of the draw. So many of us do such awesome projects, they can't pick us all, so I'll keep on keeping on till I make it ;) I will say this, I sure wish some of us lived closer to each other, I'd love to scrap with you for a day :)

  5. Stunning layout, Paula! I love the shades of green you used. Great background treatment, too. I thought for sure you used texture paste!
And that granddaughter of yours, she's quite the little model. She knows how to work the camera, for sure!
Sorry to hear you didn't make the G45 team. With beautiful work like yours, it's just a matter of time!

  6. This is gorgeous Paula. I love the colours and those papers are so lovely. Beautiful little girl too. Love me some bling as well. You rocked these challenges. :D

  7. such a lovely flowery LO!! love it so much!! thanks for joining us at SATW!!

  9. I love your spirit and your attitude! You keep on trying for that DT, because I know you will make it!
I'm trying to think of the words to use here, and can't seem to. But seeing how we've grown with this art, and scrapping is really amazing.
I love that you are adding these other elements into your pages, and each time I think well she has outdone herself this time, and then there is the next one!
Your pages are simply lovely arts of work, and I wish I could see them in person!!
Your brick wall is beautiful. It's subtle, but it's there, and it just flows so well with the page. The roses are so pretty, and it just all goes so well together. Another beautiful page!!

    1. I will Lisa, till I get on! This one stung a bit, but it's ok :) I really love playing with different techniques.
