Our neighbours had a grape vine along our fence, which made for great privacy and a lot prettier than a fence. When the husband passed away, his wife had them pulled out. She said he was Italian and thus had to grow grapes! lol But she was never allowed to do any of the gardening, so once he was gone, so was the garden.
