Our spring break has come and gone, but we have a special visitor that we have been enjoying immensely! My mom came in from New York on the 13th and totally surprised all my kids :) I didn't tell them she was coming, just went to the airport that morning and brought her back and just blew them all away! She'll be here till the 27th and it's been wonderful having mom here. She got to spend Sophia's birthday with her on the 14th and that was awesome.
I made a great cake that I saw on Pinterest for So, along with the chocolate cake she originally wanted. Here's a pic of the Pinterest one -
and here's mine -
It wasn't as hard to do as I thought. Here are some picks of us putting it together. You just drop each color right on top of the last -
My frosting didn't come as nice, but cool just the same -
I've made a scrapbook decision, my town has a market night each Thursday, and I've decided to make some of my things for selling. I love doing it, people always complement my pieces, why not see if I can make some bucks at it. Here are some pics of what I've been working o.
This one is a spring banner obviously, I love how nice it came, it really is cheery and bright.
This baby banner would make a great shower decoration and then on to the baby's room. It came so sweet.
I'll also be doing mini's and some altered stuff like my paint cans and some bird houses. I'll see how it goes. You don't know unless you try, and I might as well try.

I Tried My Best...
but I wasn't one of the 30 to make it to G 45's second round :( I'm a little sad, they are such a great company. The competition was so tough!!! Seven are on their design team presently (you're allowed 2 terms but you must resubmit like everyone else) a nice chunk are designers or instructors of some form. I know sounding like sour grapes, that's ok, I gotta lick my wounds a little bit ;) It stings some to put yourself out there and not make it. I take solace in the fact that they came back to my blog twice to see my work, that little map on the side comes in handy for something! The projects that these winners did was just off the hook crazy good. As I perused the competition to see what I was up against, I knew that the ones who made it would. Just insane goodness the talent that's out there. I won't let this discourage me though, I'll try again next year. In the meantime I'll use this as a learning example and continue to hone my craft using one of the most beautiful products in the paper-crafting industry :)
On a side note I changed the closet hanger I was using for my paper. This one is much sturdier for my stash as you an see...
Get a load of this cutie, my grandpuppy Gizmo. He's 13 wks old now-
