More Than Words

Hi friends, thanks for stopping by! I have a new layout here featuring a sweet sweet pic of my baby Sophia holding my days old granddaughter Aelyn. What a precious memory to save. I'm entering it into this new challenge site, More Than Words. Give a click, it's a neat concept! The prompt is the word Wonderful, and show some sparkle. Well you all know that's a breeze for me ;) Love me some sparkle!

The pic I chose represents a small glimpse of all that is wonderful in my life. My baby isn't a baby any more, and the same for my granddaughter who is now a high school freshman, but they are truly wonderful beings! Being so close in age they're more like sisters than aunt and niece. I'm also using it for my song challenge over at scrapbook.com. My song was I Got You Babe from Sonny and Cher and decided to go this way with it.

We have Graphic 45's Little Darling,  Sweet Sentiments, and Once Upon A Springtime along with a smidgen of fussy cut flowers from Secret Garden. The flowers were made with Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed Fleur stamp and die set which I colored with Lindy's mists, and the chippie is from Dusty Attic. A bit of texture paste and stenciling along with my butterflies and some stickles for sparkle.I love all the layers. A perfect memory saved. I have a Snapguide where you can view the process, just click.

Hope you like it and have a great rest of the week!

Happy Fall Ya'll!

Well hello friends! I'm here to share this fun fall layout I did for the Autumn Bliss challenge on Scrapbook.com. I'm also putting it in the hoard challenge too since I used a Bo Bunny line that I've had for a few years. I have decided to really try and be conscientious about using my stash which is at an insane level. There is also a video to go along with this layout. Here are the pics -

I made the metal mat with an embossing folder and metal tape that you can get at Home Depot or Lowes. I then stained it with Distress stains, alcohol inks and some brown paint. The flowers and leaves were made with a combo of Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves, Susan's Garden, Heartfelt Creations stamps and die sets Sun Kissed Fleur and Delicate Aster. The flourishes are Tim Holtz Elegant Flourishes die. There's some faint stamping in the background, Prima's brick stamp and Stampin Up's French letter stamp. I cut the title with my cricut using my gypsy to weld the letters from the Ashley cart and the twig from the gypsy wanderings cart that came with the gypsy. This was a great memory apple picking last year at the local orchards. As you can see my kids are big time hams!

Swirlydoos Round Robin

Happy Monday friends! I come to you with a layout I did for the Swirlydoos Round Robin Challenge. Give a quick click to check it out :) I used the beautiful Enchanted Evening Kit along with stash items to create this piece. The challenge was flowers and so I had a blast since I love them on my layouts.  The papers were gorgeous from Bo Bunny's Rose Cafe line. The beautiful pic is of my gorgeous Sophia and her friend Valerie at Valerie's Great Gatsby themed birthday party!

I made these pretty asters on the left with Heartfelt Creations aster stamp and die set. I really H.C's things!  The rest of the flowers were from I Am Roses. A great selection for a really reasonable price. Homemade texture paste with a word stencil over some distress ink in Victorian Rose along with a bit of Lindy's splats.  The chippie in the top right was from my stash from Creative Embellishments.  The flat backs I made myself with beads that I melted. I love making flowers, I wish I made time to do it more often.

Thanks for the visit!

Layer It Baby!

Howdy folks!  Welcome, happy Monday to ya :)  Today is my last Guest Design Post for Craft Hoarders Anonymous. After all this time, are you STILL not familiar with this lovely challenge spot?  If not, puhlease click on the title and give it a little peek, you won't be sorry I promise :D

This is challenge #18 Layer It!
One good way to use your hoard is to use lots of it all at once! So, let's see those layers! We need to see at least THREE layers on your project! (Ink, paint, embossing, and mixed media products do count as layers!) Drag out all of that hoarded paper or those embossing folders that are in the back of the drawer. Use those stamps, dies, and punches! Show us the layers!

The prize is a goody!  A Lindy's Stamp Gang Gift Certificate for $30 to their store. In case you haven't noticed, I use their mists and embossing powder almost exclusively.

On to my project.  This is a layout I did of my beautiful daughter Victoria and my granddaughter Gianna on Gi's graduation from 5th grade.  What a gorgeous pic.  I used Heartfelt Creation's paper, die and stamp sets here.  Check it out -

I love Heartfelt Creations papers and their dies and stamp sets.  I picked up quite a few things at the Expo a couple of weeks ago.  This is my newest product obsession.  Really lovely items, the paper collections are stunning.  It is awesome how you can stamp and then use the matching dies to cut out the pieces!  I cut clocks and flowers like crazy and had a blast.

My layers consist of paper, which I matted, stamping, embossing, texture paste with misting and splatting, and then of course the flowers and clock pieces.  I did a random punching on the left and right side of the pages rather than systematically punch it formally.
