One Weekend 2 Shots

Bear with me as I begin this journey of taking one picture on Saturday and one picture on Sunday. This post will have my Saturday shot and my Sunday shot.  I need to get into the habit of snapping pics of things that aren't just my family, and I tried to do this with my flag shot.  That poor flag was bought by my Dad and it got shredded by the sago palm it flew over and needs to be retired now.

I look forward to seeing how I progress as a photographer, which I hope will enhance my scrapbooking as well.  This was a great project thought up by Dedra Long at Between Us, and I am excitedly going to embark on this challenge.

For those of you who thought a pic a day was to daunting, please jump on board this one here!  I think it'll be fun and a great learning experience, and the more the merrier, so come along with us.

Ta Da!!!

Lookie here, I just re-did my scrapbook/everyday doings blog to a 3 column like my book blog, which by the way, if you haven't become a follower of, HURRY UP!!!  Most of us like to read, some more than others, but you can get some really good book ideas from  myself and the other awesome book blogs I follow.  What a wonderful world of blogging that genre is!!

Anyway, the new header and background is courtesy of a great designer Itkupilli over at  Cute*n*Cool Blog Stuff.  Go and check out her work.  I think her style would fit you Miss Elaine big time!  She has a gorgeous blog over at Divita-Knies Art.  You've been quiet E, come back your work is beautiful and missed!!

I am not at home, I'm still in N.Y. with Mama, she comes home with me tomorrow.  I am so very happy.  The 12th was the one year anni of my Dad's passing and she had a Memorial Mass said for him, and then we all went to his favorite restaurant afterwards.  He was so loved and what a testament to the great person he was to see that love still expressed.  Mom didn't want to fly alone her first time out to me without him and that's fine, cause the thought of seeing her come down the stairs of the airport by herself would have been too much reality smashed in my face as well.  I still am bitterly raw by it, still scratching my head.  We are all very excited she's going to be with us and that's a very good thing.  I think we'll go to the Bowl and catch a nice summer show, she's never been, and also the Relands Summer Theater Festival, that is awesome!

I have been having a nice visit.  I don't like being gone from Hubs so long.  It really bothers me, and him too, but seeing family is great.  All the cousins love playing together and seeing my nieces and how big they're all getting makes me realize how quick time goes by.  The twins are just hysterical and they crack us up.  We spent a couple of days in Pa with my brother as well it's so peaceful there.  We didn't do anything special like we did last year, and that's ok, we didn't go for that.

On Saturday my scrap sistah Serene from Shades Of Blue came with her husband Jim, her son Logan and Logan's friend Katerina(hope I spelled that right).  We went to the feast, had some zepoli and fried oreos.  Wow!  It's so nice to see her.  I love the fact that we have a relationship born out of a  love from scrapping which we shared online at a scrap mag's board and daily emails, and that it has grown to be something so much more.  My hope is to meet the rest of the sistah's Lisa, Courtney and Elaine, as well!!

Holy Moly!!!  True Blood is looking freaking HOT!!!  This season is blowing last's outta the water and we're only at #2.  The coming attractions for next week look fantastic.  I gotta say that stupid Snoop dog video at the end was so cheesy.  Snoop just doesn't do it for me.  We even got a little peek at Godric again last night.  Of the whole season 2, Godric was the true highlight of the show.  His ending just had tears pouring down my face, even hubs said that was an awesome episode!

Oh another thing, some of us scrappers are familiar with the project 365, which means you take a pic a day for a year.  Well Dedra Long over at Between Us is doing a project that will be much less daunting.  She hasn't named it yet, but kicking it off on the 26th of June, pics on the weekends for a year.   I am doing it and Yay my scrap sistah Lisa over at Life In Flip Flops is too!  How about the rest of you?  I think this will be a good thing, especially as far as taking pics, a new perspective on shots.  I'm looking forward to it.

Well, I'll wrap it up at this, when I get home I have a lot of scrapping to catch up on, I miss it : )

True Blood....Finally!!

Ok, I have to say, it looks like this season is gonna rock!!  I loved epi 1.  They are putting the were's right in the mix out of the gate.

Some thoughts, I didn't like Tara before, wish Mr. Ball would've stuck with the books on her, but now I think I hate her.  She's an unattractive character and she makes me sick.  Her mother is a friggin idiot case closed!  I am soooo happy that he didn't kill off Lafayette, his character is fantastic, I also flipping adore Pam.  Are you picking up what I'm putting down ; )

Eric is what he is.  Unapologeticly vicious cut throat do what you have to do vamp, case closed.  I love him.  Glad Jessica and Hoyt will probably hook up again.  The Queen is still a ? for me.  Not sure where he's going with her yet so I'll have to see.  I didn't really like her in the books too much, I'm sure it will be no different in the show either.

Poor Jason, he is having some issues.  I like his character much better than I did in season 1, even though I hated the MaryAnn storyline, I liked how Jason grew.  Looking forward to more of him.  Lets see where Sam and his family go.  Boy I almost threw up in my mouth when I saw he and Bill together.  Phew on how that ended.  It was almost too much for this Brooklyn girls little heart!  I now understand what A.B. meant about the erotic connection between the 2 after the blood exchange.

Bill, what the heck is up with that?  The were's took him and where is he going to wind up?  Ever the gentlemen, he gave that old lady money for her blood, what a nice vamp he is ; )  Poor Sookie can't get any help from the cops finding him, and boy, what a friend Tara is.

All in all I think we're in for a wild ride.  I have read all the books, I like that he doesn't follow them to a t, but I hope there was enough hoopla from the fans after the MaryAnn debacle that he doesn't go bonkers with a storyline like that EVER again.

True Blood Minisode

This is Bill's minisode.  Now, I am not a Bill fan, but this minisode is just great.  I can not wait for Sunday!  If season 3 is as good as the promo's are looking then this might just be the best one yet!

Well, whadja think?  Funny huh?  My ticker is going at the bottom of my blog counting down to go time!

Cards Part Deux

Well, I could not resist.  I loved these so much, I had to do a spin on them and did a square card, and glued them down onto white cardstock that opens up.  The round ones I just made post card type where you write on the back of them.

I have to say the Christmas one is my fave so far.  I had leftover BoBunny Christmas paper and I used my faithful Mary Englebright calendar pages.  I have so many saved of the month of December since they are just to cute.  The last is just a regular rectangular card.  It was to small for the other pattern, so I made this pretty little butterfly themed one.

Hope you like -

They are just too sweet.  I finished my tag for Jean's cj, can you believe I was in Vegas and didn't get a pic of me by any road signs for Lisa's?!  I need to snap to it so that I am totally finished.  As soon as I do that I'll get pics of those up.

Hey, go check out my other blog if you're a fan of reading like me.  I fixed it so that now my blog has 3 columns instead of just the 2, had to tweek in the html lingo snazzy huh ; )

Scrappin To The Music

This lay out is special to me.  It's of my nieces, twins Olivia and Giavana.  Born prematurely, Olivia required major surgery at 6 days old to cut away an infected piece of her small intestine and then hooked her up to a colostomy bag.  3 mos later they went back in and reattached the intestine and hoped for the best.  As you can see from the pics both girls are just great!  Olivia is the little one on the right, not attached to all those tubes, her sister Gi had to have a feeding tube and a breathing tube for a few weeks and looked worse than she was.  It was that little peanut who was the sicker of the two.

The song was Sting's Fragile, and boy this just shows you how fragile life is.

I used my cricut with the George cart for the title, some flowers that I inked, then I glimmer misted the butterfly chip on the top left.  That came from tattered angels glimmer chip collection.  I put a couple of butterfly 3 dimensional stickers.  Nothing shows fragility like a butterfly.

I hope you like how it came.

On a different note, today I went with my daughter Sophia to Olvera Street in Los Angeles.  I went with her last year too and got this repeat performance since she was in a 3rd-4th combo class this year and it is a 3rd grade class trip they make annually.  We had a nice day.

Some of Sophia and her friends having fun.  You can learn about Olvera Street by clicking on the name, and see some images here.  It's a great day trip!
